As an Application Expert, you play a crucial role within the Lotus Bakeries application team, concentrating on the implementation, development, support, and optimization of business applications and processes associated with manufacturing. You manage different ICT projects by taking ownership of SAP modules with production and planning (SAP PP and SAP IBP), warehouse management (WM) and Quality management (QM). You also support non-SAP applications such as GE Proficy (MES), Ultimo (plant maintenance) and Opcenter RD&L (recipe management). You do not need to become the technical expert of all these modules and applications but you do need to manage the high level architecture and roadmap for these tools. Finally, you also offer general advice, support and consultancy to stakeholders (fe. plant managers) and key users.

Job description

  • You are a key player in guiding our applications roadmap within manufacturing from design to implementation and continuous improvement in all plants.
  • Taking ownership of the SAP modules (PP, WM, QM) within your domain, you support, enhance and introduce these modules at the different locations of the Lotus Bakeries Group, as well as supporting the organization with non-SAP related applications.
  • Acting as Application owner for multiple applications, you are the expert and architect. You take ownership of the application lifecycle management, including the technical interface architecture.
  • You are in regular contact with key users from Lotus Bakeries manufacturing sites across the world and guide them on how to make the best use of standard functionality within SAP or other software and combine it with industry best practices.
  • You configure new processes and recommend IT solutions to optimize business processes.
  • As project lead, you deliver projects within scope, time and budget, as well as realizing and deploying new functional solutions to cover business needs.
  • You assist the users in getting the best IT Support and coach business representatives to become self-supportive.
  • You coach your colleagues in the IT applications manufacturing team (of 6 people in total) and help them grow their knowledge.

  • You have a Master’s degree in a relevant study field, combined with at least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing ICT domain.  
  • You have proven experience as a domain expert in production, planning and/or warehouse processes.
  • You are flexible and have a natural drive to continuously improve processes and ways of working, a team player who finds it easy to absorb and transfer knowledge.
  • You have a high level of self-confidence, initiative, creativity and accuracy, combined with a hands-on can-do attitude.
  • You feel at ease in a fast-paced, quickly changing work environment.
  • Given the fact that our production facilities are around the world, regular travel is part of the job.
  • Excellent knowledge of MES systems (such as GE Proficy) is a plus.
